George Washington was the indispensable man in US history. He well understood the natural character of government and led the fight for American Liberty against oppression. Unfortunately today we Americans are still fighting the same fight except it is not against a foreign government but our own.

Obama Wins, Clinton Not Going Anywhere, Change We Cannot Believe In

According to the latest delegate results Barack Obama has claimed the Democratic nomination with 2,123 delegates compared to Hillary Clinton's 1,912 delegates assuming no major changes in superdelegates before the Democratic Primary. 2,118 delegates were needed to claim the nomination.

Word is that Senator Clinton will likely use her formal withdrawal from the nomination for the spot on the ticket as the Vice President. More to come later.

UPDATE: In an address to supporters Tuesday evening Hillary Clinton has said she is not going anywhere and will be meeting with her advisers during the next few days contemplating what is best for the party and the country.

UPDATE: In an address to supporters Barack Obama speaks of an America with greater government intervention in our lives where government takes over health-care, increases funding for education, and increasing taxes on corporations.

This is not the change we need. A government run health care program will be much in the same mold as Canada where a patient undergoing heart surgery died because only one heart lung machine was allowed in the hospital or where British citzens come to the United States to be able to even get their surgery before it is too late. This is not the change we need.

Funding increases for education have grown exponentially in the past two decades yet the quality of education continues to decline. The problem is not with the money we are putting forth. It is the quality of the program that we are getting in return. This is not the change we need. Education should be up to the choice of parents who receive vouchers that can be taken to any school for the cost of education. Poor schools will be shut down as parents seek the best possibility for their children.

Increasing taxes on corporations increases taxes on the people who buy their products. In order to return a profit corporations will be forced to charge more for their products. They must in order to continue to grow their buisness. Higher taxes on corporations only stunt economic growth. This is not the change we need.

Government intervention has increased the cost of health care, increased the cost while decreasing the quality of education, and removes our Liberties.

A Government of Special Interests, by Special Interests, and for Special Interests

On November 19, 1863, President Abraham Lincoln spoke on of the most recognizable speeches in American history, the Gettysburg Address, ending with one of the most recognizable quotes in history written above. Latest Rasmussen polling indicates an America quite different than Abraham Lincoln described above.

Distrust Abounds

Polling released today indicates that only 17% of Americans believe that the government represents them and their interests. 68% believe that the government does not represent their interests.

Additionally 67% of Americans believe that the federal government is just another special interest group looking after their own self interests. Only 15% of those polled disagreed with this statement. The results were found to be relatively consistent amongst all demographics.

Out of Touch: Capital Gain Tax and the Boxer-Warner-Lieberman Climate Security Act

To say that this is new news is not surprising. Barak Obama supports raising the capital gains tax despite 65% opposition from Americans polled. Only 16% of Americans polled favored increasing capital gains taxes. Capital gains tax is a tax on investment profits and savings, currently at 15% but Barak Obama supports and increase to 28% which would have adverse effects on peoples ability to save for retirement (if you do not have a retirement account), education, or just a rainy day.

Additionally, take a look at the Boxer-Warner-Lieberman bill which is set to increase the price of fuel by $.41 to $1.00 a gallon. Output of fuel will decrease by 9.5% and energy prices will increase because of this bill, which will put trillions of dollars into lobbyists pockets taking money from Americans in the form of job loss (300,000 short term, 4,000,000 longer term), increased taxes ($1 trillion in the next 10 years), increased heating and cooling costs, higher prices at the pump, and increased energy costs. This new climate tax will result in the largest tax increase in American history

The new climate tax would a regressive form of taxation. If you remember from my FairTax discussions a regressive tax places a higher burden of taxation on lower income families as a percentage of their income. These are the families that can ill afford to pay a tax for a bill that the Environmental Protection Agency has come out and said will have a negligible effect on CO2 atmospheric concentrations. More pain with no gain. This is a vivid illustration of the special interest group that the federal government has become.

Why are politicians supporting this bill then? The answer is quite simple. This is an effort to soothe the emotions (they can say they did their part to save the planet) and buy-off the global warming alarmists (Al Gore) who are using soft science and propaganda in an effort to gain power and transform America into socialist society.

These two examples and their are many more are a vivid example of why most Americans believe that the federal government does not uphold their interests. Just more evidence that the federal government has become too bloated and needs to be dramatically reduced within Constitutional limitations.

The government is no longer a "government of the people, by the people, and for the people" as Abraham Lincoln described. More appropriately, the federal government is a "government of special interests, by special interests, and for special interests."

Conflicting Reports on Clinton Concession

An AP report has been released citing some Clinton campaign officials are reporting that Hillary Clinton will "congratulate him and call him the nominee," said Clinton campaign chairman Terry McAuliffe.

According to this report the campaign will not formally end but for all intensive purposes Hillary Clinton will concede the delegate nomination to Obama and continue to speak out on issues important to her such as her socialist health care vision for America. Furthermore, the article states that the Clinton campaign will make no further efforts with regard to seating Michigan delegates.

By suspending her campaign, a tactic former Republican nominee and possible Vice Presidential nominee Mitt Romney, she will be able to continue to negotiate with some power and increase her likelyhood of a Vice Presidential bid to then become the presumptive Democratic nominee in 2016 assuming a Barak Obama general election victory in November, which is closer than it should be versus John McCain considering the facts on the ground of an unpopular war and an unpopular Republican President.

A recent release by senior Hillary Clinton campaign officials indicated Hillary would not concede the nomination tonight and continue to fight.

Clinton will come under increasing pressure to withdrawal herself from the nomination process as the week continues. This will be an important part of solidifying and reunifying the Democratic base. If Clinton is pushed out forcefully, look for Hillary supporters to flock towards John McCain as a protest vote against Barak Obama.

The final democratic primaries in South Dakota and Montana conclude tonight, which should allow Barak with the help of a few more superdelegates to claim the nomination. The next week should be interesting to watch and could help shape how the general election plays out.

Eliminate the Department of Education

I have recently come across the article which still holds much relevance in today's America. This article was writte back during the 2004 Presidential election between Bush and Kerry. The problem has not been resolved.


This is about an government institution that has decreased the quality of education in America while increasing the cost. Does not really make that much sense, but it does for a government that clings to a bankrupt social security fund (well it will be soon), failed and inefficient socialist programs, and Democrats desire to move towards the "welfare state".

The Department of Education was created unconstitutionally by Jimmy Carter. Since its inception college tuition rates have increased, test scores compared with other countries have decreased, and the Department of Education continues to violate the 10th Amendment of the Constitution, which left education up to the states and local communities.

Election 2004: Campaign Issue Education

How many times have the American people heard during the pretend election cycles by incumbents already serving in Congress or challengers, the following tired, worn out campaign rhetoric: "I support more money for education! We need more money for education for the children!" It is nothing more than a broken record that can be heard droning on while Congress continues to pick your pocketbook "for the children."

The real campaign issue that should be raised by the voters of this country regarding education is this: The Federal Department of Education is an unconstitutional cabinet, period. There is no constitutional authority in Art. 1 Sec. 8 that allows the federal government to become involved in public education. It is and always has been a 10th Amendment issue. The Federal Department of Education must be abolished and education turned back to the states.

President Bush is requesting $57.3 billion dollars in discretionary appropriations for the Department of Education for FY 2005. Add that to the hundreds of billions of dollars already spent since Jimmy Carter created this cabinet and what do you have? Schools turning out new world global citizens who cannot read, write, add, or analyze a simple document. Instead, America's children are being taught how to hate America, embrace multiculturalism and have homosexual experiences at great risk to their mental and physical health. Test scores have hit rock bottom and no amount of zillions of dollars is going to fix the problem. Time has proven that statement to be 100 percent accurate.

The National Education Association (NEA) and National Teachers Association (NTA) run the Federal Department of Education and one should make no mistake about the accuracy of that statement. These parasitic communist run groups are private and not part of the government, yet they control the curriculum through strong-arming and threats of political retaliation. Their money buys the favors of Congress like common prostitutes to keep this endless money pit alive and well.

Parents aren't getting any better a product from these government indoctrination centers from funding which has to be borrowed from the privately owned Federal Reserve to fund them. The failure isn't just K-12. One only need read the current blockbuster, Brainwashed - How America's Universities Indoctrinate America's Youth, to understand why these so-called "institutions of higher learning" are no such thing.

The horror stories continue to abound regarding the state of America's public school system. We have heard it for almost four decades. It's a joke to even imply it's an education system. An education in civics has all but disappeared. America's children are not being taught our proper form of government. They are being brainwashed into believing America is a democracy. Nor are they being taught the history of this Republic. Instead, the time is consumed with classes preaching Islam and Allah.

After the Federal Department of Education became a cabinet-level department, the cost of college tuition exploded. Once institutions of higher learning discovered they had your blank check book to work from via new and more oppressive taxation "for the children," tuition began escalating and has not ceased.

While parents think it's just grand that their children can get student loans to get through college, the end result is these young adults are coming out of college so far in debt, the only thing they have to look forward to is despair they will ever get out of debt. Is it any wonder so many are alcoholics and drug users by graduation day?

It is not my responsibility to pay for anyone's son or daughter to attend college. That is for the parents and their children to plan - if college is a desired goal. Anything else is pure communism. Neither my husband nor I asked you or anyone else to put our children through college. Yes, it was very expensive. We had to give up a whole lot of "good times" to pay for tuition and books, but we did it with love knowing they would each graduate debt free and without saddling you with their debt to attend college.

Don't use the excuse that because colleges and universities are fleecing the taxpayer, it justifies the theft of someone else's labor to send your child to college via federal extortion money. This isn't because I have no compassion or because I'm selfish. I simply understand how communism works, how slaves are made and I refuse to lay down and have the shackles clamped to my body.

The government's indoctrination centers have become nothing more than "mother state" instead of teacher. Dispensaries handing out psychotropic drugs (Ritalin, Prozac) and free advice on how to obtain an abortion without parental notification. Constant propaganda passed off as education to embrace communism, homosexuality and turn in your parents for killing a bug in the back yard. Feed 'em, medicate 'em and shove perversion down their throats from kindergarten on up.

The only solution to this deplorable state of affairs is for every candidate running for Congress to pledge to abolish the Federal Department of Education as Ronald Regan promised to do back in 1980 while running for President. As I operate in the real world, I know that our bought and paid for public servants who serve in Congress, with the exception of one or two, don't have the back bone to get rid of this federal monster that is robbing America's children of a real education, but there is a solution.

This November - you the voter - have the power to bring the issue to the forefront. Contact your congress critter, go to any politically oriented meetings, i.e. town hall meetings put on by an incumbent or candidate debates held in your area. Get up and speak your mind. Give people the facts, emphasize that the Federal Department of Education is nothing more than a propaganda machine eating hundreds of billions of dollars a year and that it's an unconstitutional cabinet to boot. If you get nervous speaking up in public, write down a short presentation or questions for a candidate before the event. Have like-minded people join you outside and distribute one-page flyers outlining the issues that no amount of money will fix. Remember, the loudest presentation is always heard.

If none of the above work, the people of this country still have the power to bring this monstrous money eating, brainwashing machine to a grinding halt. If tens of millions of parents would pull their children out of these cesspools called public schools, the entire system would collapse. Let the buildings stand empty except for the illegal aliens.

Get off the treadmill

If you continue to support something that continues to fail, how can you expect things to get better? One cannot. If the American people continue to support the government-run education system that has been a consistent failure for more than 30 years, our children will be the ones to bear the awful price of such folly.

America cannot survive one more generation (considered 30 years) of millions of dumbed down zombies coming out of the government school system. The people can get rid of the Federal Department of Education. Where there's a will, there is a way. People just have to want something bad enough to make the sacrifice to go after it. Aren't your children and their future worth the effort?
