State is the name of the coldest of all cold monsters.

Coldly it lies; and this lie slips from its mouth:
"I, the state, am the people."

Liberty and Nothing Less

Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force.
Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master.

-George Washington

George Washington was the indispensable man in US history. He well understood the natural character of government and led the fight for American Liberty against oppression. Unfortunately today we Americans are still fighting the same fight except it is not against a foreign government but our own.

I leave you with a final thought by syndicated radio talk show host Paul Harvey to ruminate:

They have gun control in Cuba. They have universal health care in Cuba. So why do they want to come here?

Obama Wins, Clinton Not Going Anywhere, Change We Cannot Believe In

According to the latest delegate results Barack Obama has claimed the Democratic nomination with 2,123 delegates compared to Hillary Clinton's 1,912 delegates assuming no major changes in superdelegates before the Democratic Primary. 2,118 delegates were needed to claim the nomination.

Word is that Senator Clinton will likely use her formal withdrawal from the nomination for the spot on the ticket as the Vice President. More to come later.

UPDATE: In an address to supporters Tuesday evening Hillary Clinton has said she is not going anywhere and will be meeting with her advisers during the next few days contemplating what is best for the party and the country.

UPDATE: In an address to supporters Barack Obama speaks of an America with greater government intervention in our lives where government takes over health-care, increases funding for education, and increasing taxes on corporations.

This is not the change we need. A government run health care program will be much in the same mold as Canada where a patient undergoing heart surgery died because only one heart lung machine was allowed in the hospital or where British citzens come to the United States to be able to even get their surgery before it is too late. This is not the change we need.

Funding increases for education have grown exponentially in the past two decades yet the quality of education continues to decline. The problem is not with the money we are putting forth. It is the quality of the program that we are getting in return. This is not the change we need. Education should be up to the choice of parents who receive vouchers that can be taken to any school for the cost of education. Poor schools will be shut down as parents seek the best possibility for their children.

Increasing taxes on corporations increases taxes on the people who buy their products. In order to return a profit corporations will be forced to charge more for their products. They must in order to continue to grow their buisness. Higher taxes on corporations only stunt economic growth. This is not the change we need.

Government intervention has increased the cost of health care, increased the cost while decreasing the quality of education, and removes our Liberties.

THIS IS NOT THE CHANGE WE NEED! THIS IS NOT CHANGE WE CAN BELIEVE IN!

Conflicting Reports on Clinton Concession

An AP report has been released citing some Clinton campaign officials are reporting that Hillary Clinton will "congratulate him and call him the nominee," said Clinton campaign chairman Terry McAuliffe.

According to this report the campaign will not formally end but for all intensive purposes Hillary Clinton will concede the delegate nomination to Obama and continue to speak out on issues important to her such as her socialist health care vision for America. Furthermore, the article states that the Clinton campaign will make no further efforts with regard to seating Michigan delegates.

By suspending her campaign, a tactic former Republican nominee and possible Vice Presidential nominee Mitt Romney, she will be able to continue to negotiate with some power and increase her likelyhood of a Vice Presidential bid to then become the presumptive Democratic nominee in 2016 assuming a Barak Obama general election victory in November, which is closer than it should be versus John McCain considering the facts on the ground of an unpopular war and an unpopular Republican President.

A recent release by senior Hillary Clinton campaign officials indicated Hillary would not concede the nomination tonight and continue to fight.

Clinton will come under increasing pressure to withdrawal herself from the nomination process as the week continues. This will be an important part of solidifying and reunifying the Democratic base. If Clinton is pushed out forcefully, look for Hillary supporters to flock towards John McCain as a protest vote against Barak Obama.

The final democratic primaries in South Dakota and Montana conclude tonight, which should allow Barak with the help of a few more superdelegates to claim the nomination. The next week should be interesting to watch and could help shape how the general election plays out.
